
Dr Michael Rehm
Director & Lecturer
Michael has coordinated the Bachelor of Property's core paper on Building Construction for the past ten years. He also helped developed the programme's development feasibility capstone paper. Michael is originally from the U.S. and has a background in architecture. He has lectured property at the University of Auckland since 2005. His other courses include Property Issues and Trends (primarily green buildings) and GIS and Property Analysis. He has received awards for his teaching innovations involving online learning. Michael has published numerous research articles on relevant property topics such as leaky building stigma, construction cost differentials and rent premiums associated with green buildings and many studies on housing markets. Michael is also an experienced property and academic consultant and has prepared numerous commissioned reports and provided expert testimony for the High Court, Weathertight Homes Tribunal and Auckland Unitary Plan Independent Hearings Panel.
